There are a number of concerns about the program including: health, privacy, security, job loss and safety issues. Fires have been reported and appliances damaged due to the non CSA approved meters. The cost to taxpayers is massive, and will continue to increase.
Our rights have been bypassed. We were not consulted nor was the BC Utilities Commission (BCUC). The Clean Energy Act 2010 bypasses the BCUC, our public regulatory watchdog.
Many people are resisting.
